The 2016 Roots Picnic went down this past Saturday (June 4) in Philly, and it brought an impressive line-up to the City of Brotherly Love. One of the event’s main headliners was none other than R&B superstar Usher, and he delivered another memorable set backed by The Roots.
Wearing a Muhammad Ali t-shirt in honor of the late boxing legend, the 37-year-old singer opened with “Caught Up” before segueing to “U Make Me Wanna” and adding some Philly bounce to “U Remind Me.” Usher also brought out a few surprise guests including Lil’ Jon for a fun rendition of “Yeah” and Malaysian songbird Yuna for their soothing duet of “Crush.”
Now, Yuna has shared her official behind-the-scenes footage of rehearsing the collaboration with Usher, and of their first ever live performance of the duet single off her recent albumChapters. “I cannot put into words how amazing this experience was. Having the opportunity to perform a song I wrote, with Usher and backed by The Roots at The Roots Picnic was unbelievable,” said Yuna.
